Reaching for What is Possible

Over 23 years ago, our founder, a young teenager at the time dreamed of winning the Morrocan Qur’an recitation competition. The grand prize was acres of land where he envisioned starting a Qur’an school for young American Muslims.  Little did he know, twenty years later while reciting Quran to thousands of leaders attending Muhammad Ali’s memorial, he will be inspired to fulfill his dream of creating a leadership academy for young teenagers to learn how to put into practice the teachings of Quran.  Praise be to Allah in the fall of 2017, the first students enrolled in the Yarrow Mamout Leadership Program.  Miraaj Academy opened its doors to facilitate a way for young Muslim men to be academically challenged, spiritually enriched and cultivated into future leaders through grassroots leadership and uplifting community service.

PROACTIVE PARENTS

Our parents know it takes a village to raise the next generation of Muslims so they are proactively building their children’s support base.  When parents send their sons to Miraaj Academy, it’s typically their son’s first time being away from home.  By Allah’s mercy within a short period of time, our parents realize they left their sons in an nurturing educational environment where they are academically challenged, spiritually enriched and cultivated into responsible young Muslim men.  More about proactive parents.
