APPLYING TO MIRAAJ ACADEMY

Growth, Leadership and Ascension

For many students arriving at Miraaj, it is their first time being away from home.  They arrive inexperienced perhaps a little nervous to charter new territory.  Over the course of 4 years, they are granted significant independence and are bestowed an enormous amount of responsibility. The MUFTI experience is transformative and indelibly shapes the rest of their lives.

  • Master essential Islamic sciences and skills that develop the mind, body, and soul.

Why attend a boarding program?

A boarding school environment provides many more benefits for your child than most people initially realize; learning goes beyond the classroom. The boarding experience fosters brotherhood, trust, maturity, independence, and a strong sense of responsibility. Students support one another in their studies and help each other succeed. It brings together students who share similar interests and goals.

Who is the ideal Miraaj student?

Young males ages 13-15 who are looking for an opportunity to learn and practice Islam. Our students want to gain a better understanding of Islam and put what they know into practice. The students come eager to memorize the Quran and start the next chapter in their spiritual journey.

What is the admissions process?

Once students submit an application, the Miraaj staff will interview students and their parents. The purpose of the interview is to make sure the Yarrow Mamout Leadership program aligns with both the student and parental goals. Students will be required to submit two reference letters along with their application and decisions are made within two weeks after the interview.

Does the Yarrow Mamout Leadership program offer academic studies?

Many of the students who attend Miraaj are enrolled in a virtual online academic program. Each year the Miraaj staff works with parents and students to set specific academic goals for the term. Most of the students who attend Miraaj receive their high school diploma within the first three years of enrolling in the leadership program.
